Abstract
I will describe a framework that can be used in teaching to develop three important skills for adaptation in school and life--wisdom, intelligence, and creativity (synthesized). Students need creative skills to generate new ideas, analytical intellectual skills to discern whether their (and others') ideas are good ideas, practical intellectual skills to execute their ideas and to persuade others of the value of the ideas, and wisdom to ensure that the ideas are for a common good. The goal of teaching should be to instill these and related skills that last a lifetime, not merely to convey knowledge, much of which is likely to become dated with time. I will describe how teaching for WICS can be infused directly into curriculum at any age level in any subject-matter area.
