INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER

JOB SUMMARY

As Instructional Designer, you will work as a key member of a special project team to develop custom traditional (Face-to-Face), blended and e-learning programs for the Leadership Diversity project. Working within the Development Team, the Instructional Designer will report mainly to the project’s development team leaders. Responsibilities will include needs and content analysis, learning strategy design, storyboard and script development, quality assurance and evaluation.

You will work collaboratively with other specialists including the project director, project coordinator, IATHE production team, subject matter experts, and animation specialists. You will develop programs that include web based training (tutorials, simulations, case-based), blended learning, electronic performance support systems, and other knowledge products.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate degree in education or relevant field
• Three years experience in instructional design
• Experience in teaching and training
• Experience in developing the evaluation plan for learning
• Experience in learning technologies and Internet
• Experience in leading multimedia projects
• Knowledge of design principles and Internet sites management

PROJECT SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge and experience with  culturally responsive teaching and learning
• Experience in developing intercultural competency an asset
• Experience in working in a multidisciplinary team

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in writing reports for various audiences
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Bilingualism (spoken and written)
