Former Chief Information Officer, Community Services I & IT Cluster,
Government of Ontario, Dr. Henderson was responsible for IT strategy,
implementation, architecture and planning for seven ministries in the
Government of Ontario: Ministries of Education; Training, Colleges and
Universities; Citizenship; Tourism and Recreation; Municipal Affairs and
Housing; Intergovernmental Affairs and, Culture.
Prior to her appointment as Chief Information Officer for the Community
Services I & IT Cluster, Dr. Henderson was: President of the Ontario
College of Art and Design (OCAD) President of Centennial College from
1993-1998, where she established the Bell Centre for Creative Communications
Chair, CANARIE Inc.
She has also held a variety of academic positions at other leading Ontario
educational institutions. Over her distinguished career, Catherine has also
served as: Member of the Ontario Council of Regents for Colleges of Applied
Arts and Technology, Member of the Advisory Panel on the Future of Post
Secondary Education, Chair of the National Task Force on Technology for the
Association of Canadian Community Colleges.
In 1998, Catherine was a recipient of the 1998 Premier's Award for Service to
the Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology.
Dr. Henderson has an Ed.D in Adult Education from the University of Toronto,
holds an M.Ed. from Brock University and an Honours BA in English from the
University of Toronto.
